Eneka D.

The path that led me here to Altadena was like my second home. My grandparents lived
there for all of my childhood and beyond. I spent years in the community.
Why This Work Matters
Helping the community that my grandparents loved means a lot to me. Because they were a big
part of my life.
On culturally responsive care: Basically helping your neighbors.
Connection to Altadena
Most of my childhood memories started at thrifty on Lake.
Meaningful tradition: Marigold ave was my second home.
A Defining Moment
My aunt lost her house and so much of our family's history was burned.
Vision for the Future
My hope for Altadena: I honestly want it to go back to what it was. The people are able to still
live in Altadena. I know some people would rather sell and move on.
What I hope families feel: I hope they realize they aren't alone.
Bringing to the Work
Strengths: I'm a fast learner and a really good person.
On collaboration: It's my way of helping a community that I was a part of growing up.
Beyond the Work
What brings me joy: I love most sports, video games, movies and travelling.
Favorite genres: Comedy
When not volunteering: I run my own mobile notary/ loan signing business.
Fun fact: I love comic books.
Words I live by: "Fight on."
